I have been looking at coloring books designed for adults for quite a while but hadn't found one that really interested me. I wanted something that both my husband and myself could enjoy together and connect over a bottle of wine. This is perfect! The designs appeal to both of us, since they're not biased towards one gender. With my tendency to get a little OCD, I like the more intricate designs, while my husband's attention span was matched by some of the less time-consuming pages. There's something for everyone here.We both commented about the calming effect of coloring. Definitely have to agree that this is a stress reliever. Since there aren't a lot of indoor activities that are able to keep our attention focused away from the phones and TV, I can see us regularly spending time with this book.One thing that was fun for us was using a razor knife to cut out a few places on the design and putting colored paper behind the page to give it more dimension. We want to play around with putting some spacers behind the paper to make that stand out even further. Maybe some of those clear plastic bumpers that protect cabinet doors? Still thinking this one through.I think that tissue paper or something opaque in these cutouts could make for an awesome window decoration.
