Stuart Davis is a minor artist of the 20th century and this was a show of his drawings. Books of artists drawings tell you much more about what they were trying to express than their finished work, which shows what they did express. That is the beauty of this book. You see the artist exploring how to capture the world and the unique style he evolved to do it. If you are an artist or art historian interested in his work, this will be a gem. Otherwise forget it.
